Sea Kings in Canadian service are old. Older then me. I will not go into a huge history but..... We bought them in 1963. They were due to be replaced back in 1990. One government bought an expensive option for the Sea King and Labrador replacement. The new government which was well known for not supplying the Canadian Forces with gear said, nope, no Cadillac for you. A number of years later that same government bought Cormorants to replace the Labs. Delayed more on the Sea KIngs until at last becoming the lead country by buying CH-148 Cyclones. Well........the Cyclones still are not in service. Won't be for some time I fear. So a couple years ago we had a 50th !!!!!!!!! Anniversary for the Sea KIng.

That was two years ago. The way things are going I would not be surprised if we still had them for a 60th anniversary. One helicopter received gold paint and neat markings. Then one day a new company known as Canuck decals took up a challenge. Decal owner, designer and chief bottle washer David announced he was doing this scheme. I went down to the stash and finished up my Sea King awaiting his decals.  I added Belcher Bits sets one (sponsons and radar) then set two, the mess of nasty tubes that USED to hang off the bottom of the Sea KIng. Well, it turns out we do not use them anymore. David informed me. I slapped my forehead and removed the tube factory.

So the helicopter was built and ready for decals. I went to Heritagecon 2015 in Hamilton, found David at his Canuck mobile office (a 6 ft table) and bought the decals. Also bought 7 other sheets!!! Went home and finished the helicopter. We Canadians are lucky to have so many hands in the decal industry here. Especially as Canuck seems to be making some decals which I would have thought would never see the light of day. Such as the CF-101 thunder chicken.
